Rosie's Tariff  2021/23

2 nights min. from £95 per night

Airbnb service charges apply.

On June 2nd 2021, we waved goodbye to our first official guests Jonathan and Jayme who have enjoyed their stay in Rosie so much that Jonathan, an English teacher, was inspired to write this lovely poem!

ROSIE

When first meeting Rosie it’s never a doubt,
A lass of pure beauty, both inside and out,

From her taut timber frame to her musical twist

Her charms and allure are too tough to resist.

But Rosie has secrets you need to uncover:
Be careful you don’t judge a ‘book’ by its cover.
She can be a tease though, so surely it’s wrong;
When you need a wee dram she may ‘string’ you along.

She’s the perfect escape to both muse and amuse,

As you marvel in awe at her heavenly views.
So sit back...enjoy and rest those weary feet,

Relax and restore here at Rosie’s retreat.

June 2nd - 6th 2021

Thanks, Hazel and Peter for our second stay in Rosie. Highlights this time were a walk in the Grey Corries and a longer than planned exploration of the lovely Morvern Peninsula by bike. Each time we come, we are struck by the attention to detail in the creation of Rosie.

Everything is just where it needs to be and everything works, but the joy is in the playful flourishes of the design, and of course in opening the curtains in the morning to see what mood the mountains are in today and opening the windows to let in the bird song - today a cuckoo!

Thank you so much for sharing this wonderful creation - see you next time!

P.S. Excellent flapjacks!

Alan and Sarah (Lancashire)

June 8th - 13th 2021

We feel very lucky and thankful to have been Rosie’s first (of many) Airbnb guests! We have enjoyed every moment of our time here: exploring Glencoe, Loch Ness, climbing half way up Ben Nevis, and at the end of each day we looked forward to returning to the cosy and peaceful confines of Rosie the Hut!

We loved the many musical details and the secret door/bookcase. We have been spoiled by the stunning views of the mountains and your lovely garden. Thank you for being such warm and welcoming hosts. We hope to see you again!

June 13th - 17th  2021

If I had known years earlier that shepherds’ rests were so luxurious, I may have picked a different career! Rosie is the perfect retreat from city life and I’m sorry to say we will be visiting again many times in the future!

While we may have been tired by conquering The Ben, we will never tire of the stunning views from Rosie.

Richard and Michael (London)

June 22nd - 25th  2021

We feel extremely lucky that we found Rosie, this little gem of the Highlands! After a few days of mostly rainy walks, we felt coming back to this cozy, warm and comfortable place was a treat. It is a really special little hut with all the carefully placed, personal details and we wished we could stay longer to be amazed by the ever changing, spectacular view from the window!

Maybe (hopefully) next time when we’re back, we’ll have more time and better luck with the weather!

Thank you for your kindness and hospitality.

Take care, Marta and Bert

Firstly we would like to say a big thank you for our warm welcome as soon as we arrived. Secondly we found Rosie to be comfortable and cosy and gave us a fantastic base for our little getaway and learning about the history of Rosie made our stay even more special.

Thank you so much. Emma and Craig

P.S.  Thanks also for the education in Scottish whisky. I think Craig has found a new hobby!

Dear Hazel, Peter and family, thank you for our very enjoyable stay in Rosie the Hut. It is such a unique place to stay in - our favourite part being the Narnia bookcase! The setting is fabulous, we have loved having breakfast with such a great view. We have enjoyed finding all the musical touches. It has been so cosy and comfortable in the hut.

Thank you for your kind hospitality - the baked goods were especially welcome after a long walk up Ben Nevis! Congratulations on creating your dream so beautifully - have a wonderful summer.

Best wishes, Jo and Hana (Shalford)

 July 31st - August 8th 2021

I do not have the words to justify our stay.

So in short:

Lovely family.  Beautiful accommodation. Fantastic location.

Dianne and Craig

August 9th - 12th 2021

Dear Hazel and Peter,

Thanks for giving us such a beautiful base to go to and explore the fantastic countryside. The cabin was so comfy and cosy that on the rainy day, it was perfect for having some hot chocolate with the fire lit!

The location has been amazing and we were able to climb Ben Nevis which was our main goal. The view from the window has also been a dream!

Thank you again for your hospitality!!

P.S. As musicians ourselves, we absolutely loved the musical quirks - especially the flute pipe!

Best wishes,  Lizzie and Tom

August 12th - 16th  2021

What a beautiful opportunity to take in some of the Highlands, we feel very lucky to have stayed somewhere both made and filled with so much love.

Everything you can need, including delicious flapjacks and a sneaky warming dram, in a perfect little space.

We felt so welcome when we heard the fire had already been lit for two soggy Londoners.

Thank you,  Becky and John x (Molesey)

August 21st - 23rd  2021

Thank you for having us at your lovely wagon.

We had a pleasant time cooling off from our adventures in the Faroe Islands and the Isle of Skye … and visiting Fort William.

We are off to conquer Ben Nevis!

Thank you, Kennedy and Patrick (Atlanta, GA)

Anne-Marie and Julie (Twins!)  August 24th - 28th 2021

Thank you all so much for your wonderful hospitality. We have had such an amazing few days in the Highlands. Thank you for your recommendations for trips out - and thank you for introducing us to Rosie the Hut. She is the cutest accommodation we have stayed in.

We feel extremely privileged to have enjoyed such a wonderful stay in Rosie - she is truly one-of-a-kind.

Never have we seen such a well thought-out and executed accommodation… each musical quirk more amusing than the last! Personally loved the piano on the doorstep!

Extraordinary scenery, lovely hosts, beautiful garden, wonderful Rosie. We would be thrilled to return in future and experience it all again.

Thank you.

What can we say ... Mountainous, Musical Marvel!

We write this while sitting outside on the decking listening to the most incredible piano playing coming from the house - WOW!

Rosie has been the most wonderful place to rest and recuperate during our trip around Scotland in our tiny van - Rosie was pure luxury!

What an incredible coincidence to discover the connection with your WWF musical Yanomamo! My brother and parents have lovely memories of performing this wonderful music.

We will be back!
Thank you again, Becky and Ben (Cornwall)

September 9th - 11th 2021

Hazel and Peter, thank you for a very warm welcome (a rare complement from a Yorkshire man to Lancastrians!). Rosie really was the gem of a find and she is perfectly located in your beautiful garden with magnificent views of the mountains and ben Nevis. (Well, they would have been magnificent but for the clouds!)

It’s the first time we’ve stayed in a Roadworkers’ Wagon but I doubt it will be the last - we want one for our garden! Rosie is warm and very comfortable (especially the beds) and a welcoming retreat after exploring the stunning countryside. You have fitted her out with with everything your guests need, down to the log burner and, of course, a wee dram. We were particularly impressed with Rosie’s carpentry/woodwork and the musical decor.

You and Rosie will be highly recommended to family and friends and we hope to return again before too long.

Thank you and best wishes, Andrew and Kerrey (Isle of Man).

Nick and Jane September 9 12th - 14th 2021

A unique and marvellous change from the usual B+Bs or hotels! We thoroughly enjoyed the homely comforts and homely welcome.

We will be sure to recommend Rosie to others. As for the whisky - sad to say we couldn’t find it, but hope to on our next ‘Day Trip to Bangor’!

Nick and Jane (Harpenden)

What a wonderful place to be. A truly unique discovery. Such a cosy and cute stay with some breathtaking views. We could sit on the balcony all year watching the scenery have nature dance around it.  We hope to return one day.

Thank you, Tom and Amy (Brighton)

18th - 21st September 2021

Had a fantastic stay in Rosie. What a wonderful, cosy and unique place to stay. The views are amazing. A great base to climb Ben Nevis and to explore the surrounding area.

The musical references are great to spot around the hut. The wood burner is a welcoming sight when returning from a long, wet walk and it warms the hut up nicely.

We hope to return one day!

Chris and Carys (Wiltshire)

P.S.  The ginger cookies were amazing!

September 22nd - 24th 2021

We have had an amazing stay in Rosie. So cosy and welcoming and a great location to explore. Hazel and Peter, thank you so much. Rosie has everything you could possibly need.

Due to poor weather, we didn’t end up climbing Ben Nevis but instead found ourselves exploring Loch Arkaig - so beautiful and very peaceful!

Nina and Callum (Manchester)

September 25th-27th 2021

Staying at Rosie the Hut is an absolute must. Breathtaking views, lovely hosts and attention to detail all combine to make it an unforgettable stay. Rosie is practical and spacious by day and cosy and warm by night. Extremely comfortable beds, a lovely hot shower and a woodburner to warm the toes after a long walk were greatly appreciated. We couldn't fault our stay, other than it wasn't long enough!

Thank you Hazel, Peter and Alfie.

October 1st-3rd 2021

What can we say… Rosie is an absolute delight! We have had such a lovely stay in her and the wood burner was so nice and cosy to sit in front of. This is just a total haven of peace and quiet.

Thank you Hazel for the delicious scones you baked for our arrival. Loved all the musical references in the hut, very clever! The surrounding area and scenery are so beautiful and we enjoyed our trip to Inverness too. Even all the rain didn’t spoil our stay. Hopefully we shall be able to make a return visit and enjoy Rosie’s comforts again!

Kindest regards, Sheila (Livingston) and Dorothy (Edinburgh).

October 6th-9th 2021

Thank you for the most wonderful stay! Rosie is, without doubt, the cutest accommodation we’ve ever had the privilege of enjoying - from her roaring fire to her snuggly beds, her tasteful timbers to her musical motifs! Thank you also for all the lovely little touches you’ve put in to ensure our stay was wonderful - the delicious biscuits, lovely hand soap, offers of more firewood and, of course, the hidden bottle of whisky! Safe to say, we have a new favourite dram.

We managed to fulfil a long-held dream of climbing Ben Nevis (despite the horrific weather - we think that’s the wettest we’ve ever been!). We also enjoyed visiting the Glenfinnan Viaduct (sans the Hogwarts express or any flying cars) and a lovely meal at Russell’s Restaurant in Spean Bridge.

We can’t wait to come back and stay again!

Charlotte and Josh (Bristol) x

October 17th - 20th 2021

Thank you for a wonderful few days.

We were warm and dry despite the weather, well fed and watered. Just the Ben we failed to conquer. Next time!

We’ll be back!
All the best,

Ben and Siobhan xxx (Inverness)

More perfect than I could have imagined! More spacious inside than expected, extremely comfortable beds and cosy all through the cold nights. Beautiful looking and beautiful views. Hazel was extremely helpful and so lovely, sending information beforehand, greeting us and showing us around Rosie. Loved this stay so much!

We would like to say a massive 'thank you’ for what has been our most memorable stay in Scotland to date. The scenery has been stunning, the weather great and the fire warm! Most of all, Rosie’s charm and your hospitality have just blown us away. We could not have asked for a nicer stay.

Your recommendations and trips have kept us nice and busy - we even managed to conquer the mighty Ben Nevis (cold at the top!!!). We can’t wait to come back again next year!

All the best,

Rory and Rachel  (Harrogate)

November 5th - 7th  2021

Such a wonderful stay in this cosy cabin! Love all the hidden touches and homely feel.

We had quite a bit of wet weather but went over to Kinlochleven to do some indoor ice climbing and bouldering. We also ate at the Ben Nevis Inn (Achintee) which was fantastic!

Thank you for such a memorable and lovely stay.

Lucy and Al  (Edinburgh)

November 11th - 14th  2021

Dear Hazel and Peter, we have had a great few days holiday and have loved staying here. We had everything we needed and Rosie is so homely! We managed to climb Stob Ban and Mullach nan Coirean one day and got a dry spell on the wet day for the recommended nearby walk.

Thank you for the tasty biscuits and the dram! We hope to be back one day to explore this beautiful area and stay in the wonderful Rosie.

Many thanks,

Katie and Tyman  (Glasgow)

December 3rd - 5th  2021

A magical place in the Highlands. Hazel and Peter are wonderful hosts and will prepare you the fire before you arrive at the hut. Fresh baked flapjacks in a wonderful hut await you. When the wood ran out for the fire, Hazel and Peter promptly re-stocked the pile for the next day. Would recommend any time of the year. Thank you again for a unique, relaxing experience.

Dear Peter and Hazel,

Thank you so much for having us. This will definitely be a weekend to remember. The short winter days meant little time outside but we did not mind coming back in early to the cosiness of this hut.

From the log burner to your welcome, the whole hut simply feels warm, reflecting the thought and love behind it.

All the best,

Karolina and Pierre (Sheffield)

Jim did find the whisky! Loved the rack and the many musical additions. Blessings to you and your family.

We have been blown away by how wonderful our stay has been. Rosie is the most magnificent wee hut and the views are breathtaking! We have felt so comfortable and cosy sipping a dram by the fire after a day's walking and playing cards (with no TV to distract!).

Glencoe has been a brilliant find and we are already thinking about where we can explore next time we stay!

Thank you for providing two very tired teachers with a truly memorable Easter break.

Fiona and Dan x  (Lincoln)

15th - 18th April 2022

We had a lovely stay in Rosie the Hut.

Such a great location for exploring the area - Loch Ness, Glencoe,

the Glenfinnan viaduct, and of course the Nevis range!

So cosy with lots of quirky details. Also, the Easter tiffin was delicious!

Elinor and Ranjeet  (Shaftesbury)

Thank you Hazel, Peter and Rosie for a beautiful stay in Scotland! I've had an absolutely wonderful time here.

I was able to see the Hogwart's Express, climb Ben Nevis and search for Nessie while seeking refuge and comfort in Rosie.

You both have been so kind and welcoming and I am happy to be one of the fortunate ones who have experienced a stay in Rosie. Thank you again for the biscuits!

This trip will always be remembered.

We had an amazing time here and will take home some fantastic memories!

What a truly beautiful and unique setting. Even when we were rained off and had returned early one afternoon, we still had an amazing relaxing day by the fire, reading a few books and playing a few board games.

Thank you very much for the memories.

Derek and Shannon (Sauchie, Scotland)

Helena and Bruce  (Nottingham)

24th - 26th May 2022

Dear Hazel and Peter,

The weather was not our friend during our stay here...

but there is no better place to stay during rainy days than  Rosie. The raindrops on the roof make it even more cosy in front of the fire.

This was the best place for us to slow down, relax and enjoy during our UK road trip. The views on the mountains and in your flourishing garden are amazing. Thank you for this experience and all the best,

Michael and Stephanie (Freiburg, Germany)

27th - 29th May 2022

Rosie,

It has been an absolute pleasure getting to know you and we will miss you terribly. Your cuteness and cosiness are unparalleled and those views of the Ben ....wow!!

The highlight though was the homemade shortbread biscuits by hazel. The BEST we've ever had! Hazel, you're a gem!

Thank you Hazel and Peter for providing such a relaxing and peaceful home away from home.

We hope to visit again one day.

What an absolute joy it has been to stay at such an amazing place. Rosie is the perfect little get away from it all - with such spectacular views. We couldn't have wished for more.

Thank you Hazel, Peter and Alfie for making us feel so welcome - the little note was really touching and the 'wee dram' after Ben Nevis much needed!

There is so much more to say about our stay, but not enough space to say it. Thank you so much.

Hazel and Peter are adorable. They have beautiful accommodation in an idyllic location. Fully equipped despite the fact that it seems smaller than it really is, with very comfortable beds and a very spacious shower.

The location is perfect for getting around that part of the Highlands. Totally recommended and they have had many communications with us that we have greatly appreciated.

Maria and Anna  (Spain)

Thank you so much again for the amazing hospitality. Rosie is such a magical place to stay for a few days!

We enjoyed our time just having a little spot to rest at, after the little excursions around the Highlands.

Thank you for all the little touches. We love the treasure hunt, especially the yummy/delicious kind. They have made our brief stay up here really wonderful.

Thank you so much again for everything. We look forward to our future stays here!

Dear Hazel, Peter and Alfie!

We had such a lovely time at Rosie the Hut. The cosiness of the space, the warm fire and the secret bathroom entrance have been exceptionally charming.

Waking up to the beautiful Scottish Highland view was extremely refreshing. Thanks for being lovely hosts - this was the perfect sanctuary to come back to after hiking in the rain. To many more visits and lovely guests in the future. Cheers!

Yun Wei and Qiu  (Cambridge, Massachussets, USA)

4th - 7th August 2022

What a find! Both inside and out, this is truly an outstanding place to stay - we enjoyed every minute despite the Scottish weather being somewhat changeable. We are Southern softies!

Watching the stunning view has been a real tonic - pity we couldn't sit on the balcony for more than a few hours.

Loved the walk up the forest track, Glen Roy and the beaches around Arisaig - simple pleasures after what has been a challenging few years for all. Hoping we will return one day buy it's a long  drive from Devon!

Thanks, Chris and Adele (Bovey Tracey, Devon)

8th - 12th August 2022

Rosie is a fantastic accommodation in an utterly gorgeous place. Everything was brilliant! Would recommend it over and over.

After months of waiting to visit Rosie and her beautiful surroundings, we finally made it and were gifted with the perfect Scottish summer weather.

Thank you Hazel and family for making our delayed trip possible and for your warm hostitality - our stay was even more magical than we could have imagined.

We couldn't get over how beautifully thought out all of Rosie's details are, from the intricate stained glass to her musical touches. We're delighted we could enjoy her dreamy beds after a huge day of bagging Scotland's highest Ben!

Thank you for everything.

Thank you for all the small touches, they made this trip even more special. (Your gorgeous pup, too! )

Dear Peter, Hazel ... and Alfie,

We absolutely loved it here!

Rosie is one in a million and our stay was way too short. Thank you for the lovely time! We loved sharing our love for vintage vehicles with you - Peter got a trip down memory lane in our 1989 BMW 320 (Photo).

We wouldn't have minded spending another few days cuddling Alfie and enjoying the view from up here, and trying to guess what makes Hazel's shortbread so delicious.

We do have one concern though - do you have several hiding places for the whisky? Because people will be back!!!

All the best,

Arthur and Colinda (Netherlands)

7th - 9th September 2022

Although brief, we really enjoyed our stay here.

Thank you for your hospitality, the milk,  the whisky and, of course, the tasty cookies!

We loved the hidden bathroom! Rosie has been a unique experience we wouldn't mind revisiting.

All the best,

David and Hillie-Anne (Netherlands)

4th - 6th September 2022

Hazel and Peter,  We had an absolute roller coaster of a time getting here but are so thankful that you and Rosie have been high points on the ride. From the piano keyboard welcome 'mat' on the decking to the mystery of how to open the bathroom door, every moment on this gorgeous hillside has been a literal and figurative breath of fresh air.

Thank you for the food recommendations, the short bread, and even though we don't drink, thanks for the whisky too. We took the Jacobite train yesterday, fulfilling my childhood dream of riding a large steam locomotive through the mountains. When Amanda's lost luggage with our hiking gear finally shows up and we're able to fulfill her dream of scaling Ben nevis, we'll know exactly where to stay!

16th - 18th September 2022

A little piece of paradise! Just what we needed to escape from lives too busy.

Rosie is an absolute tonic - spotlessly clean, with beds that are gloriously comfortable. Thank you for making us so welcome. We have had a wonderful time.

I'm just off now to take some Nurofen after climbing Ben Nevis! Ahhh!!

21st - 23rd September 2022

We were blown away with the warm, comfortable welcome we experienced arriving at and staying in Rosie. We haven't felt this 'at home' for quite some time. The atmosphere is friendly, jovial and relaxing. All the little details don't go un-noticed!

The mountain range is utterly beautiful, reminding us that despite being well over 6000km from home, home is a feeling. We are celebrating our honeymoon/1 yr married anniversary. Love certainly grows wild and free in places such as this.

The space and atmosphere you have created is memorable for a lifetime. Thank you for having us share in the magic!

The perfect form of 'cosy' is "Rosie".

We had a few rainy days during our stay. However, this did not make us sad, thanks to the cosy Living Wagon.

We could very well rest in it after our hike up Ben nevis.

Thank you very much for your great hospitality.

The thought, details and love that have gone into Rosie are nothing short of amazing. To say she has character is a gross understatement. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing and finding all the details in this amazing space and know how much time, thought and love it takes to make them all possible. Can't thank you enough for sharing your space and hospitality with us. Please keep sharing your creativity with the word.

Best wishes, Nathaniel and Kelsey (USA)

We absolutely loved our stay in this hut. I spent every year in the summer in scotland and Davi is from North Spain, so this type of landscape is close to our hearts. We now both want to build our own hut ... would it be better?? I doubt it! Thanks again.

What a really magical place! The best cabin we have stayed in by far. We loved the creativity and the craftmanship. After getting 40 minutes from the summit of Ben nevis twice (!), it was a heaven;y place to come back to.

Thank you very much,

Richard and Vicky

21st - 23rd November

25th - 27th November

We've had the most magical stay here in Rosie and we can see the care and attention to detail put into this wonderful creation. Its exceptional location allowed us to see the best of Scotland without e ver being rushed. Thank you for the guidance and recommendations for the trip. A paricular highlight was the Ben Nevis Inn on Achintee Road. We'v e fallen in love with scotland thanks to you. We hope our paths cross again.

All the best,

We have had an amazing stay. The hut and location are erfect - even with the frozen pipes! It's been lovely to have a warm place to return to after making my first winter ascents! Thanks for everything you've done to make our trip more comfortable. We hoe you have a lovely Christmas!

Hayley and Luke (Edinburgh)

2nd - 5th December 2022

Our trip has been nothing short of magical, thanks to Rosie. We visited so many beautiful places, but I'd say our best momories were made in Rosie. The creativity and thought that has gone into Rosie is wonderful, she is such a relaxing/playful space. We loved chilling out in front of the fire with wine and having breakfast out front with those views! This such a unique place, thank you so much for letting us stay (and for the Alfie cuddles!) Finding the whisky was fun too! We holpe to come back again soon.

Merry Christmas, Megan and Toni. xx

3rd - 4th February 2023

Hazel's welcome and Rosie's roaring stove were just what we needed after a damp day on the hills in Glen Roy.

And then the hot, spacious shower with luxurious Highland Soap Co. products - and the hidden 'tipple' - provided further warmth.

We loved all the quirky musical touches and the beds were super cosy. Despite the wet and windy night, we heard nothing but an occasional owl and we slept well.

What a majestic sunrise over the nevis range in the morning. Just wow!! Thanks for everything; we will certainly be recommending Rosie to others.

17th - 19th February 2023

Dear Hazel and Peter,

I sit here writing this in front of the roasty toasty fire and taking in the most beautiful view! Within the first half hour after arriving, we felt our shoulders go down and have felt totally relaxed and a peace.

Rosie is truly magical! Quiet, cosy with the most spectacular scenery. Thank you for all the kind and thoughtful touches, the super tasty shortbread, the fresh flowers from the garden and the gorgeous toiletries. We can see how much love and effort you have put into Rosie.

We enjoyed a lovely walk today on your recommendation; just wow!!! This break has made us stop, breathe and soak up the creation around us, truly something special and good for the soul. Life truly is a gift. It has also been lovely to hear the song of the birds around all day.

Thank you for a wonderful weekend. We will be back.

I’ve been our climbing with Dave MacLeod and so my fingers don’t work very well today, but even so: this lovely visitors’ book full of kindly and grateful words is a testament to the creativity and care invested by Hazel and Peter in Rosie.

What you have done is to give me a moment in time which I will remember forever. This is something bigger than everyday existence, although my everyday existence here was delightful, warm and cosy. Thanks Rosie. Thanks Hazel and Peter.

Small, luxurious and lovely cabin that is perfect to escape busy city life. The cabin has absolutely everything you might need. Everything is prepared and thought out in extensive detail - you will even find a bottle of milk in the fridge for your morning tea/coffee. There are plenty of activities around for all types - casual or active. One of the most lovely stays I have ever visited!

Greeted with a warm smile and ushered into a cozy hut ; won over by the comfort and aesthetics. We loved everything about our experience. Having lived in several B+Bs around, this one has won our hearts. Hazel was such a lovely host, prioritising our comfort.
Rosie was such a beautiful lodging space, giving us a good night’s sleep and views. It was the little things that we will remember: Hazel walking out in the cold on our arrival to make sure we could find our way, the trumpet lamps over the bed, the hooks by the bedside, the little fireplace to give an authentic experience! And the one I am gonna try to replicate - the hidden secret door to the washroom Thank you!  Shubhanshi and Poshak

17th - 20th April 2023

Surprisingly spacious and well equipped. Hazel was a welcoming host from the moment we drove up the driveway. The little touches like the trumpet lamps, bookcase bathroom door and the hidden tiple!
We enjoyed our time here and will definitely be back!
